Christopher Pow was not here when his name was drawn last night so the $50 he would have walked out with goes into next weeks Cash Giveaway pot. Had Christopher been here he would have won $50 for sure and had a chance at another $50 by answering one trivia question. Next Friday, between 7 and 9 pm. we will draw a name for a minimum of $50 award and a chance at $150. Only people who are here sometime between 7 and 9 are entered and you must be present to win.

In the first of our weekly cash giveaway drawings Jeff Bulka had his name drawn and correctly answered the trivia question. His reward was a crisp $100 bill. Every Friday between 7 and 9 pm we draw a name from those registered that evening. If the person is present, and who wouldn't be, we ask a trivia question. If the answer is correct the person wins $100. If the answer is wrong the person wins $50 and the other $50 is added to the pot for the following week. There is no purchase required to play but you must be 21 years or older.

The trivia question was, "What color comes between green and indigo in the visible light spectrum?" Jeff correctly answered "blue" and took home $100.

The Great Northern Pipers Club sponsored their annual Tionol this weekend and several of the best pipers in North America visited the pub on Sunday night. The music was fantastic. The pipers add an exciting dimension to an already fabulous Sunday session.

This Saturday, May 16, is the Preakness at Pimlico in Baltimore. If you can't be there, be here at Keegan's Pub. The Black-eyed Susans start at 3 pm. Post time 5:05 pm.

Keegan's is now offering a free pint of beer just for playing the Pub Quiz on Tuesday or Thursday night. You must be 21, must play the entire quiz, and must purchase food or alcohol for the free pint of Summit on Tuesday or Grain Belt on Thursday.

Both Channel 4 and Channel 9 ran nice clips about our Kentucky Derby party on their evening news the night of the Derby. The Preakness may draw more media coverage. Be there.

The party for the Kentucky Derby was a huge success. About 80 people attended and consumed many Mint Juleps. the race was exciting, as usual. Keegan's will host a Prekness party on May 16 for the second leg of the Triple Crown.

Come in Sunday evenings at 6 pm for the best traditional Irish session in the upper midwest and one of the best in the world. People in Ireland have told us the best Irish music is in the "States" and people in the "States" have told us the best is at Keegan's Pub.
